QUEEN CHARLOTTE

This paper reflects my critical thinking, communication, and intercultural understanding, which align with TRU’s ILOs. Through my analysis of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, I examine how race, representation, and power are constructed in media, connecting Shonda Rhimes’ creative choices to both historical context and modern conversations about the British Royal Family.

I demonstrate critical thinking by analyzing how “fiction inspired by fact” can challenge traditional narratives and social norms. I demonstrate my communication skills by clearly presenting complex intersectionality and representation ideas in a structured, engaging way. Additionally, this paper highlights intercultural awareness by exploring how media can reshape perceptions of race and identity within historically exclusive institutions. Overall, this work showcases my ability to apply academic concepts to meaningful, real-world discussions.
